It's a major award!

On Saturday my friend Carrie gave me a cool blog award. 

The "you make my day award" is circulating around a bunch of knitting blogs these days and I think it's a cool idea.  There are a lot of blogs I read on a semi-daily basis and many of them do indeed make my day. 

I've never gotten a blog award before.  When Carrie emailed me all I could think of was the Dad in A Christmas Story talking about his leg lamp being "a major award."  I can't tell you how over-used this phrase is in my family.  :)

Anyhoo, Carrie is part of the knitting group that I attend and she's awesome.  She's hilarious and I always know it's going to be a fun knit night when she's there.  We've shared many a laugh over the past several months of knitting together and I look forward to more!  She's also a really good knitter.  Thanks Carrie!

During my blog-trolling tonight I discovered that my knitting friend Kat also included me in her award list.  Kat is part of a special swap that I've been doing for the last year and I think she was one of my first swap partners.  We've kept in touch over email and I'm a regular reader of her blog.  Not only is Kat a great swapper, she's an amazing knitter and spinner and excellent email buddy.  Thanks Kat!

So, now it's my turn to give away the You Make My Day Award.  Besides Carrie and Kat here are some of my favorite blogs:

• Drunken Purl - Denise is my cousin and I'm so excited that she's finally blogging!  I set her up with this blog when I was home in November and look forward to reading it every day.  Not only is Denise my cousin, but she's a really great friend.  Before moving out here you could regularly find us together or on the phone and I miss that!  It's great to read her blog and keep up with her life.
• City Lakers - My cousin Dan is the main poster on this blog.  He's married to my cousin Denise - see above.  I love his blog because he's a great photographer.  Dan and I share photography in common and have had many a good techie chat about the subject.  He does a great job of documenting family events which is very cool for me to see being all the way out here. 
• ScreenShots - Lindsay is my friend from scrapbooking.  She's got one of the best blogs out here.  Totally hilarious and inspiring.  It never disappoints. 
• Peacock Chic - This blog really inspires me.  Her knitting and sewing projects are always really well done.
• Carole Knits - Carole is another special swap partner.  She regularly updates her blog and I love reading.  She always knits the coolest socks and has great photos too.

I have many more favorites than this, but I'm going to stop there because I'm out of time.  :)
