...photo editing: I have many photos to share that have accumulated over the past 3 months. Editing takes time. Time that I do not have right now! So for now I'll share my daily mugshot of the day taken on my iPhone. (Disregard the fact that my makeup looks so dark in relation to my neck. I think that's an optical illusion -- I hope!? In addition, I should really learn to love lipstick - geez, you learn a lot by taking selfies all the time.)

...learning to sew: I should have learned to sew before I moved away from a family full of seamstresses! But, now I'm left to learn on my own. With You Tube and the amount of instructional books out there I think I should be able to learn some stuff! I would like to make a few skirts for summer and I hear that is pretty easy. Advancing to dresses would really be the thing I'm most interested in. I love a dress that fits well! I can sew the basic stuff -- pillowcases, napkins, simple bags and I even made curtains. I need to bone up on the basic rules and terminology more. I've heard great reviews on these three books -- any other recommendations?
...learning to stitch: I've done embroidery here and there. (I think I can say that about almost every craft out there! Thanks Mom for allowing me to grow up in a crafty home!) Mostly when I was younger and I never really advanced beyond the basic stitches. It's coming back into style though as a modern craft much like knitting and sewing. More variety of patterns are available too. When I have some time to set aside I'm going to start with this kit. Click the picture to take you to the kit's link. Sublime Stiching has some VERY cool patterns that I can't wait to try!!
Other things I'd like to have more time for right now -- finishing up some knitting UFOs (I have enough to last for a while!), knitting socks and sweaters, cleaning my house (haha!), running, Pilates and reading. Not too much to ask, right!?
7 weeks and 3 days until I'm done with school. Not that I'm counting. :)
That means that there are only 6 weeks and 4 days until Sock Summit 2009 -- more on that later.

As of today I have only 10 weeks of school left. 2 classes left, 5 weeks each. I will finally have obtained by bachelor's degree (in business/e-business) which seems to have been 10 years in the making.
I just finished an Astronomy class. During the course of the class I picked up this yarn and noticed that the colorway is called Neptune. Fitting, right?!
I have mixed feelings about finishing I guess. On one hand it is a huge relief and I will have gobs of free time which I've been thirsting for. On the other hand I need to find a better-paying job, in my field, within 6 months so I can pay back all my student loans! I'm anxious to move into a new field, but nervous at the same time. I've been at my current job 10 years and considered to have a lot of experience. It seems daunting to start over again.
Know anyone who wants to hire a recent e-business grad with no experience in the field, a great work ethic and a love for the interwebz?? ;)
When I started back to school in January 2007 I had a hard time visualizing this date. My life changed drastically with regard to free time, or lack of free time, I should say.
Over the past few days I've been making a list of things I would like to do with my newly-found free time.
Here is what I've got so far:

I've been working on homework on and off all day. In between I've been trying to do little chores in an attempt to get my house in some sort of order.
I'm trying to finish up a paper that I've been working on for two days and it's just not happening. I've hit a total mental road block. Luckily it isn't due until tomorrow, but I'd love to have it finished tonight. I still have a few hours before bed I guess.
I figured I would take a short break to blog.
I edited a few more photos from our trip to the museum that I posted about the other day.
Surprisingly the food inside the museum was really good. I had the best veggie sandwich and Adam had a great burger.
The museum also had their own wine tasting bar and gift shop. This was the highlight for me. I sampled several of their wines and brought 2 bottles home. They have their own vineyard and winery right on the grounds.
That's all I have time to share now. Back to my homework. Happy Sunday. :)
It's been really hot here this weekend. And by hot I mean hot for this area and too hot not to have air conditioning. I know I have some Arizona readers and I'm definitely not comparing to their heat. :)
I hate to even complain because I love the sun. We barely get sun in Western Washington. In fact, we typically only get about 75 days of sun in one whole year. That's definitely on my "cons of living in Seattle" list.
I also happen to be on an antibiotic right now. For the second time in 2 months. And I shouldn't be out in the sun for very long while I'm on it.
Our two story condo occupies the second and third floor of the building. Our second story is where the bedrooms are and it's brutal up here. It's like a sauna...I think we might have to break down and buy an air conditioner today.
Anyways, there is really no point to this post. Except complaining I guess. :)
I'm taking a break from the mountain of homework I have to finish today and thought I'd write a quick post. I'm playing around with some new Photoshop actions that I downloaded here. I snapped a few fresh photos of my desk to play with and I like how this one turned out with the actions.
A diet Coke with lime and some blackberries are my homework-doing-snacks today.
Hope your all staying cool! Adam just asked me if I wanted to go drive around in our truck with the air conditioning on. It's not a bad idea - even if gas is over $4/gallon. :)
