I was not ready for Monday this morning.  I woke up late, I didn't make it to the gym, we hit heavy traffic and Starbucks was extremely slow this morning.  I'm hoping that the rest of the day goes a lot more quickly because I'd rather just be at home.  :)

I have a lot of work to catch up on today as well.  I was off Friday because I had 2 wisdom teeth out.  Adam had 1 out as well.  Most of our weekend was spent loafing around which for some reason just made me more tired!  I'm ready for another weekend and Monday isn't even over yet!

Here's a summer-themed mosaic for this Monday.  It was in the 80s and 90s here all weekend so we were able to get a little taste of summer.

We had a good weekend.  I was able to check a lot of things off my to-do list and I'm feeling a little more caught up for the time being.

    • Cleaned out our closet and donated a huge bag of clothes
    • Caught up on some long-neglected chores, simplified a bit
    • Got a great haircut & color, some new product and a nice visit with my stylist
    • Refreshed our wardrobes a bit with some shopping
    • Bought new bedding and finally decided on a color palette for our bedroom (Now we just need to pick our some paint and furniture)
    • Spent some time outside in the sun and had a couple of great meals out

I'd love to hear how you spent your weekend too!

    Happy Monday!

    Mosaic Monday

The last time I blogged was a week ago today.  You might remember...I had a bad Monday.

Well, last Monday was just a warning for my week ahead.  :)  I ended up with a horrible sinus headache on Wednesday morning.  I tried many OTC pain relievers and nothing even came close to fading the headache.  By Friday morning I still had the same headache + it had moved to my ear.  I left work early to go to the Dr. to find out I have the dreaded sinus infection.  Boo!

I'm feeling only slightly better today.  The headache isn't constant, but it's still there.  Hopefully tomorrow will be my lucky day and these antibiotics will kick in!

Here's a random mosaic for Monday.  Just some good stuff, found on Flickr:

    Randommosaic

    1. Strawberries and Cream, 2. A world of colors beneath your feet, 3. I DONT THINK SO THAT THERE IS A LOVE .. !!, 4. garden full of yumminess:o), 5. that moment, 6. Come on get happy, 7. And before I forget - my Dad has been bugging me to put a picture of his dogs on here:

    Dogs

So there you have it - Jasper and Charlie.  He likes these dogs more than his own kids!  For the record, Charlie (the Golden) is mine.  I wish he lived with me, but seperating these two dogs would surely cause heart failure in both.

    I hate Monday mornings + a mosaic

Actually, I hate mornings in general.  Monday through Friday - mornings are not my friend.

Here's a recap of my Monday morning:

    • Struggled to crawl out of bed at 6:15am
    • Got dressed for the gym, packed my lunch, grabbed my gym bag
    • Left the house at 6:38am for the 30 minute drive to the gym
    • Got within 1 mile of the gym and realized...
    • That I left my work clothes at home...hanging on the door
    • Turned around for the 30 minute drive back home
    • Showered, got dressed
    • Left for another 30 minute drive back to work

Poor Adam...God bless him, he is patient.  We carpool to work together every day.  We work a mile away from each other and the gym is in his office building.  He did all the driving this morning - because of traffic I wouldn't have made it back and forth without being able to drive in the carpool lane.

It's raining like crazy out there now and not supposed to let up for at least a week.  Because of that my mosaic this week is rain-themed.

    Mosaic6034775

    1. Its raining, 2. Why does it always rain on me??, 3. Its raining again, 4. Singing in the rain, 5. Walking in the rain 1_2499, 6. Rain in Cracow, 7. After the rain I, 8. That's all for today.  I hope your Monday morning has been better than mine!

I'm hoping to get enough time for a couple of blog updates this week.  It's been a busy couple of days around here.  I have stuff to post about - I just need the time to collect my thoughts and photos and roll them into a blog post.

Here's what I've been up to:

    • I've been knitting
    • I've been scrapbooking :gasp: I know!
    • I've been slowly getting back to a gym routine

More updates later - happy Monday!

    Mosaic Monday

I've been wanting to participate in Mosaic Monday for a while now, but have never gotten around to it.  I love trolling the blogs and Flickr on Mondays to see all the mosaics.  I find the mosaics so inspiring as art and photography.

So, here's my first Mosaic on Monday.  These are all photos from Flickr of my hometown - Lockport, NY.  In honor of yesterday's homesickness post.

    Lpmosaic

    1. IMG_0172 copy, 2. IMGP4884_chmx_crvd_rdcd, 3. IMGP8010_cxcv _bw_rd, 4. IMGP4073_hdr_cvstly_rm, 5. Lockport, NY- Erie Canal Locks, 6. ......., 7. IMGP3881_hdr_lystdb_rm, 8. IMGP3907_lyrd_crvd_rdcd, 9. 100_4398_reduced

While searching through Flickr for photos to put in the mosaic I came across a lot of great photos of my hometown.  Really made me wish I had taken more photos of the area when I lived there.  I guess it's one of those things where you take it for granted because it's always there.  Honestly, I think differently of that town than when I lived there.  There's a lot of history and a lot of great photo ops, but it's easier to see from the outside.

I'm going to make it a point to take more photos of the area when I go home next.  We won't be going back until November, but it's on my list.  Hopefully my cousin Dan will want to take a half day or day to walk around with me.  He's a great photographer and I think it will be fun to do this with someone else.  It will also be fun to review the photos and see the different perspectives.  Big Dan, what do you think?
