H is for, I is for...

I got a little behind in the ABC-along over the past month so I'm catching up with two letters today - H & I.  For all of the letters so far I've tried to use photos from recent outings, but I haven't had much play time lately.  I really wanted to catch up anyways so I decided to take some photos around the house.  It was a lot of fun to do it this way.  Gives you a chance to see your "stuff" in a different way.  It challenged me to be a little more creative interpreting the letters.  Especially the letter I - that was a toughie!

I also like to use my ABC-along photos for playing around in Photoshop (I use CS3).  Running different actions, finding new ways of adjusting everything and using different frames.  Since these photos are just for fun this is the perfect opportunity to brush up on my Photoshop skills.

H is for Hottie Husband ;) - Playing some Xbox

H is for Home Defense System :)

Just one photo for "G" because I haven't had much time to take photos lately.  Hope to have more for H coming up.  :)

    C is for...

We took an impromptu trip to the Market yesterday with a friend.  We were out running errands when he called, but I never give up a chance to go the market.  The sun was shining in Seattle for the first time in about a year...and of course went behind the clouds the minute we got there.  :)

Anyways, I had my little point & shoot with me in my purse thankfully because we weren't near our house to get my DSLR.  So, all my C photos are from the Market.

C is for Corner Market - on Pike & Pike:

    ABC Along 2008

Right after the first of the year I signed up for the ABC Along.  Ravelry group is here

    Abcalong150pxwide

I've been working on my A photos the last few weeks and will post them this weekend.  They are due by 01/19 and then we move on to B.

If you haven't joined already, then you should!  (I'm talking to you Denise and your new camera!)  You still have time to work on A and be right on schedule.  Some people are taking only one photo per letter, but I am going to be taking as many as I can think of.  If any scrapbookers are reading - this isn't just for knitters.  The photos can be of anything so you can join too!

I'm glad I signed up because it's reminding me to take more photos.  Every New Year's Eve I make it a point to sit down on my computer and look through photos from the previous year.  I never get around to printing photos any more and barely have time for scrapbooking so I think of it as a digital photo album.  Well, this past New Year's Eve I was really disappointed.  I had gone months without taking a single photo.  That's so not like me, but life took over in 2007.  I was so busy with work and school that we just didn't seem to get out as much as we usually do.  Another disappointment was that I literally found 2 photos of Adam and I together - yes, TWO photos in all of 2007.

So, this year I'm recommitted to taking more photos.  The ABC Along is great and I will definitely take advantage of the creative aspect of the challenge.  I also have been trying to take (almost) daily photos with my little camera and even took a few this morning.  Just random stuff that nobody else cares about, but documentation of my days nonetheless.  Less attempts at the "perfect photo" and more attempts at just getting something written to my memory cards.

Other photography plans for this year are to be more diligent about printing for photo albums and frames.  I probably won't get to scrapbook much this year again, but I'd really like to have more photo albums floating around.

And my question to you is - are you documenting your days with photos?
